Before I really started my design business, I used to make all kinds of greeting cards to send to friends and family. Most of them were holiday oriented. One year, maybe 8 years ago, it was Leap Year and I thought it might be fun to design something for that. I took out my sketch pad and came up with the following drawings.

These are obviously the cleaned up versions of my sketches.  I wasn’t sure how my text would turn out or even if I wanted to both designs together.  It ended up that I printed the ‘happy leap year’ design on some light green vellum. Then I printed the little frog design on cardstock as an insert.

I revisited this card many years later and decided that as cool as the vellum and insert were, it wasn’t the most cost effective design. So, I combined them and came up with my current design available on the website.
