I was browsing Etsy a while ago, looking for a birthday present for my brother and came across a poster of New York being attacked by Star Wars ships. It was really cool and I thought “I could do this!” I knew my brother would prefer the Chicago skyline though. So I searched the internet for vector elements. (I’ll be honest, I really didn’t want to make a vector image of the Chicago skyline.) I also found some awesome Star Wars fonts and vector downloads. I ended up finding everything I wanted and got to work designing.
My first design turned out something like this:I didn’t love it, but it was a start. Mostly I didn’t like the background.
When in doubt, I change colors.I’ll be honest. I loved this version. However, I was making it for my brother and didn’t think he’d go for the rainbow color scheme.
I decided to go back to blue and change it up a bit. This was what I came up with: The more I looked at it, the more I knew that this was the one!
I sent it to the printers and loved what I got back. I packed it off to my brother and I think he liked it too!
The other day I ran across the image again on my computer and thought it would be a great giveaway or freebie on my website. So you can download a 12×36 inch, high quality pdf that can be taken to a professional printer. And best of all, it’s FREE!!!
I’d love to hear your feedback about my creation. Comment below, email a picture of Chicago Skyline Star Wars Style hanging on your wall or share the pictures with us Facebook.
